FEDERICO BEBBER
Federico Bebber was born in 1974 in Udine, Italy. Since 1998 he deals with digital art. He uses digital tools based on photography.
His creative process usually takes place slowly and at night.
"It is the need to express and and to vent restlessness
that produces these artworks: it is unrest coming from
discomfort and speaking through artfulness and nature.
The audience is universal. Tones are colourless, from pure white to dark black, through the whole range of greys. The contents are literally ripped out of everyday life, combined and merged with agonising shapes, exposed to a fantastic metamorphosis, within a dream-like and surreal environment.
Viewers will stop to listen, as if waiting for some noise,
without knowing whether it will be music, words or screaming.
Will the viewers be able to the detect the humour hidden behind that unrest?" FB

This 3D-Printed Dress Reveals More Skin As You Reveal More Data

Two NYU students have created a "wearable sculpture" that uses a mobile app to adjust the fabric's opacity based upon how much information you share about yourself — knowingly and unknowingly — on sites such as Google and Facebook. The more transparent you are, the more "transparent" you become.
It's a project that brings new meaning to "data visualization." Pedro Oliveira and Xuedi Chen invented the "x.pose dress" as a visual commentary on the paradox that exists in our internet culture, where we are simultaneously obsessed with publicity and privacy.
As Chen notes on her website:
In the physical realm we can deliberately control which portions our bodies are exposed to the world by covering it with clothing. In the digital realm, we have much less control of what personal aspects we share with the services that connect us. In the digital realm we are naked and vulnerable.By participating in this hyper-connected society while having little to no control of my digital data production, how much of myself do I unknowingly reveal? To what degree does the aggregated metadata collected from me paint an accurate portrait of who I am as a person? What aspects of my individuality are reflected in this portrait?Since I have already ceded control of my data, I wanted to go a step further and broadcast it for anyone and everyone to see.
You can read more about the project and its technology at Chen's x.pose project website.

NASA Reveals Latest Warp-Drive Ship Designs
Look at the picture above. Nope, it’s not a snapshot of a Star Wars scene, or any other sci-fi movie. It’s what you get if you combine a NASA physicist working on achieving faster-than-light travel with a 3D artist, and the result is freaking AWESOME. And yes, you heard correctly, there are scientists working on faster-than-light travel, and this is what the ship could look like in the future.
You might be thinking to yourself right now “Faster-than-light travel? But Einstein!” Yes, according to Einstein’s theory of relativity, nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. But scientists are looking for ways to get around this, and a team based at NASA Eagleworks, led by Dr Harold “Sonny” White, have been working on just that. They discovered a loophole that could theoretically allow faster-than-light travel without breaking the laws of physics. How? Warp drive, of course!
If a spaceship could be designed in such a way that it created a warp bubble, then the space in front of the ship would be compressed and the space behind would expand. This would result in space-time moving around the object, repositioning the ship without it actually moving.
“Remember, nothing locally exceeds the speed of light, but space can expand and contract at any speed,” White told io9.
So of course, White’s new design incorporates these ideas and involves “a sleek ship nestled at the center of two enormous rings, which create the warp bubble,” 3D artist Mark Rademaker explained to io9. You can check out some more of Rademaker and White's ship design here.
Think this sounds a little too futuristic? According to a report by Gizmodo, White’s team has been using a test instrument called a White-Juday Warp Field Interferometer in order to try and generate and detect microscopic instances of warp bubbles. If they can achieve this, then who knows how quickly the technology could advance. “Perhaps a ‘Star Trek’ experience within our lifetime is not such a remote possibility” says White.
If you’d like to find out more, watch this clip below from 41:54 to see White discussing the design:
