I expected you to come
In the steam of the night;
The mist of my awakening
Announced my ghost…
Only our shadows remained
through Distant footsteps…
Still, burning in the mouth of time…
Yo, te esperaba
En el vaho de la noche,
La bruma de mi despertar
Anunciaba mi fantasma…
Solo permanecían nuestras sombras,
En huellas lejanas…
Aún, queman la boca del tiempo…

CASEY BAUGH
"Another Face to Wear"
In a Dream
Baugh's work can be described as narrative impressionistic realism. Specializing in oil paint and charcoal, he began painting at the age of 13 and began selling professionally at age 17. When he was only 21 years old, Baugh began showing in galleries and after four years of studying with artist Richard Schmid, he had his first solo show at age 25. He has made several television appearances and has been featured on the covers of many publications, including The Artist's Magazine, American Artist's Magazine, and American Art Collector.
Baugh's art has evolved over time to become more narrative. Though still maintaining figures as his prime subject matter, he is telling more stories, and his series and exhibits are becoming more thematic. On a constant quest to push new boundaries, he is persistent in experimenting with his inspirations and artistic translations, pursuing more complicated compositions and achieving grander shows. Experience with electrical engineering as well as video and movie-making has attributed greatly in his use of props, set building, lighting, and translates to the overall harmony of his visual layouts.
"..... the profound similarities between Baugh's painted world and our own have the potential to unsettle and awaken us, as viewers, to a more vivid reality than we currently experience, and to freshly recognize the "static" that interferes with our ability to connect with one another and live meaningfully. " -Jeffrey Carlson Contributing Editor, Fine Art Today
Baugh currently works and resides in New York City.

Where is the source of my insatiable desires?
It is in the Heat boiling in me doze
Flowing to my pernicious torment, jumil
Insatiable Destroying my static equilibrium ...
Die sitting while looking through the glass of my retinas,
Is to water the Veda from my eyes in stings rotten...

EN LA COROLA
I am loving, despite
the pain
Swallowed in the mouths
of my chest
Furtive sunrises sunless
Exhausted And elastic
hands ...
I love, though doll broken and sewed
Of restless mirrors for eyes,
lips open ...
Tears dried in the breeze
of words spoken,
Your breeze,
I Loved, with pale eyelids
In the petals of a rose ...
Amando, a pesar del dolor
Tragado en la boca de mí pecho
Amaneceres furtivos sin sol
Manos exangües y elásticas…
Amar, aunque cosida muñeca rota
De inquietos espejos como ojos,
labios abiertos…
Lágrimas secadas con la brisa
de palabras pronunciadas,
Tu brisa...
Amé, con los párpados lívidos
En la corola de una rosa...

Adrian Ghenie The Fake Rothko (2010), sold in Sotheby’s London June 30th Contemporary Art Evening Auction.
"The Romanian painter based in Cluj was already a global hit. The rumor goes that advisers of all stripes were begging at the doors of his Berlin dealer Galerie Judin during the artist’s last show, hoping for a work that for most remained out of reach. Ghenie is collected by the Centre Georges Pompidou; François Pinault is a fan. But today’s sale of his 2010 painting The Fake Rothko for £1,426,000 against a high estimate of £350,000 places him in a different league altogether. The contemporary evening auctions truly concern only about a handful of highly bankable artists—the Warhols, Fontanas, and Richters of this world, those who market commentator Scott Reyburn describes as “investment-grade favorites.” Tonight has proved that Ghenie might well be on the way to becoming one of them."
